How did you first get involved with Crossfit Solent?
I stumbled across ‘The fittest on Earth’ on Netflix on Christmas Day and thought I need to try this, these athletes are like nothing I’ve ever seen before. I was looking for something new to try, there’s only so many times you can tolerate gym bros stealing your dumbbells at a regular gym before wanting out! Olly taught me the basics and I haven’t looked back.
What has been your most memorable Crossfit Moment so far?
Competing at Wild West, the whole weekend was awesome and being part of a team where everyone gave their best was something I’ll never forget.
Name a CF goal you hope to achieve by the end of 2017?
My list of goals is pretty long but next on the ‘to do’ list is the elusive bar muscle ups!!
What do you do when you are not training at Crossfit Solent?
Work! For my job I need to make sure I’m stronger and fitter than my ‘customers’.
What is your biggest improvement since you started Crossfit?
My mobility, before starting crossfit I just concentrated on moving as much weight as I possibly could whenever I was training. Crossfit taught me that if you’re not mobile the weight is irrelevant. It’s a lesson I seem to be reminded of daily.
What is your favourite part of being a Crossfit Solent Member?
The community vibe, it’s something I’ve never experienced before and I’ve been training since I was 16, the fact that people are genuinely interested in your progress and offer advice and tips is priceless in my opinion. This was evident at Wild West too, it definitely boosts your performance because you want to make the team proud.

I’ve spent a decent amount of time practicing kipping pull ups so they have to feature!
