28 Nov Am I Good Enough?
Over the past 17 years of being immersed in the fitness Industry, as a Trainer, Coach and playing American Football, I have come across many challenges and more importantly met a lot of people trying to overcome their own.
When confronted with a challenge it is common to question your own ability and ask “AM I GOOD ENOUGH?” Let me tell you now, YES YOU ARE!
After being involved in CrossFit for more than five years, plus running ‘CrossFit Solent’ for the past three years, I have heard this question a fair few times.
People generally first hear of CrossFit either through a friend who cannot talking about it, or you start your own digging by googling CrossFit and find these mad fit people doing incredible things (FYI these people you see on videos started just where you are now!!!). Again the question arises, Am I good enough?
It is only natural to feel apprehensive about starting something new. There is no right time to start or wait to get fitter to start … “I can’t do a pull up, or a push up, or jump on a box, or lift weights”. My advice would be to aim to do one thing at a time. The great thing about CrossFit is that everything is scalable to your ability. Don’t worry if you can’t do a pull up or a push up, the Coach will put you in a position to succeed and still get the movement done.
You are not alone. The CrossFit Community is so powerful! Just contact your nearest CrossFit box and ask for a taster session. The best and only way to experience CrossFit is to try it for yourself, either 1-2-1 or drag a friend along for back up!
Everyone begins at different levels and the only mistake you may have made was not starting earlier!
YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH!
